Connie was born in Chicago but spent most of her younger years in the south. Marrying into the military and later civil service afforded Connie the opportunity to live throughout the United States and abroad. During that time, she obtained her degree in Accounting. Connie worked in the public and private sector as an Office Manager and/or CFO. In addition to work, Connie was busy raising four children – Joey, Joanna, Peter and Jennifer. Needless to say, her spare time was filled with lots of school activities – PTO, Band Clubs, Sports Clubs, and Fundraiser Projects.
Having moved a lot, Connie believes the slogan, “home is where you hang your hat”. She believes, even though you may not live there forever, it is important to contribute to the community while you are calling that home. She was involved in volunteer work and sat on various boards including: Boy and Girls Club, Carbon County Museum, Rawlins Main Street, Carbon County Library, Pet Partners (SPCA), WY Workforce Development Program, Prison Re-Entry Program, The Affordable Housing Project and Adopt A Family.
After the children were grown she decided to return to college for personal enrichment and enjoyed it so much she went on to receive a BA in History with a Minor in Political Science and a Minor in Native American Studies. Not stopping there she went on to receive a MA in History with an emphasis on Political History.
Her interests include working with people, special event planning, photography, cooking, hiking, and reading. Connie now resides in Frederica with her husband, Lanier and 3 4-legged children (cats) – China, Mo, and Zen.
